About FEAR - #49
"Death is not the biggest fear we have; our biggest fear is taking the risk to be alive - the risk to be alive and express what we really are." - Miguel Angel Ruiz
This was taken on my first trip to Boulder Falls. Upon finding this spot, I had to just sit back and watch the water. Some snow was still frozen to the waterfall, giving it a floating effect. The rock at the bottom of the waterfall was perfect for a balance. After basking in the moment for a while I became aware of my surroundings, put down my pack, and went to work.
At first I was very hesitant to step on the snow. The river was running below it, so I knew it was somewhat hollowed out. However, the vision of this concept kept pushing me past my fear of the snow. After a little while I realized that it was quite sturdy! I went and found some of the heaviest rocks I could carry, and grouped them together in the edition you see before you. Each balanced stone is about the size of my torso.
After stepping back to set up the shot, I knew I had made a great choice stepping on that snow...
